In my last 2 posts (Video Training Tutorials and Internet Killed the Video Star – DVD Review) I talked about the DVD Internet Killed the Video Star. When I watched this DVD the instructor (Aharon Rabinowitz) used a software package called Sorenson Squeeze, which I had never used although had heard of. Fast forward 2 weeks and I don’t know how I got on without it!
First off, what is Sorenson Squeeze and what does it do? Well below is a quick video overview that explains this pretty well.
In short Sorenson Squeeze takes your uncompressed (also compressed) video and compresses it down for web, iPhone, DVD etc and in many different formats too. Before I had Sorenson Squeeze I had to convert, scale, encode etc my uncompressed videos in either Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro or other similar packages… while this method ‘done the job’ it sometimes meant a lot of trail and error… not too mention a good few late nights!
The great thing about Sorenson Squeeze is it has lots presets so all you have to do is drag the preset you want (i.e. a preset that converts your uncompressed video to a YouTube format) onto your video hit ‘squeeze it’ and Sorenson Squeeze does the magic! It can also encode multiple videos with multiple presets in the same batch run so you can leave it running throughout the night knowing the next morning all your videos will be ready to go!
All in all, I would highly recommend Sorenson Squeeze 6 for the final stage in any of your video workflow!
