Lightboxes

Lightboxes are a great way of gathering files that are stored in different folders around your system. By adding them to a lightbox, you have a copy of them in one handy location, ready to send to others.

Tumblr: Content Managment Made Easier?

Posted 8th December 2010 by    email Email article     share Share article

Tumblr has been in the news once again after experiencing a system down time of more than 24 hours. This caused outrage on various social sites, which goes as testament to the reputation Tumblr has built. Blog’s hosted on the site experience traffic in excess of 500million page views a month, which is an incredible stat in its own right.

But why so many problems? Having become such a big site you would think they’d have ironed out all the bugs by now. The latest problems have been blamed on “database cluster issues”. Despite its problems it has become a leading option for bloggers without having to purchase their own web space. The system draws stark comparisons to leading Content Management System WordPress with its design and ease of use.

Tumblr’s ability to integrate with other social media sites such as Twitter & Facebook make it a popular option as the monthly traffic stats will show, but with frequent downtime and a growing sense of unreliability within its community, can it maintain the level of growth it has experienced in recent times?
