Media Lightbox Quick Tip

Selecting Files

Once logged in, you can select multiple files by clicking and dragging your mouse over them or by holding the ctrl key and clicking on each file. Mac users can hold the cmd key and click to select several files.

File Approval System

Every Media Lightbox account includes the ‘File approval’ feature. The approval system is ideal for requesting approval on a design or prototype from your boss, colleagues or a client.

Upgrading

Need more users, storage or bandwidth? Upgrading your Media Lightbox account is easy. Once logged in, simply visit the upgrade section to change your plan and customize your account to suit your company.

Folder Access Control

Media Lightbox enables you to control folder permissions for single users and custom groups. Site managers could, for example, give the accounts department access to important spreadsheets, whilst the design team have access to design and marketing folders.

Lightboxes

Lightboxes are a great way of gathering files that are stored in different folders around your system. By adding them to a lightbox, you have a copy of them in one handy location, ready to send to others.

GetGlue… just another social media website?

Posted 23rd May 2011 by    email Email article     share Share article

GetGlue is a social media website I have only just come across, but have no doubt it will only get bigger!

While I was listening to the Fringe podcast (a show dedicated to the hit FOX show Fringe) the presenters kept talking about GetGlue. After a few weeks I decided to go onto the GetGlue website, sign up and see what all the fuss was about.

What is GetGlue?
It is an entertainment based social media website where users “check-in” to the entertainment that they consume i.e. watching a TV show/Film, listening to Music/Audiobook/Podcast or reading etc. and it was developed by AdaptiveBlue in 2009.

That’s kind of cool (please note cool can be replaced with geeky!) on its own but after “checking-in” users receive points and earn virtual stickers but users can request to have real versions of the stickers they earn mailed to them for no cost. Stickers are typically mailed in batches of 20. This is very cleaver in my opinion as users (like me) keep going on “checking-in” to get some stickers!

Still not completely sure what GetGlue is? Check out this video below:

So far GetGlue impressive partners include 20th Century Fox, AMC, ABC Family, Disney Theatrical, Discovery, ESPN, FOX, Food Network, Hachette, HBO, HGTV, MTV, MSNBC, Showtime, Penguin, PBS, Random House, Simon and Schuster, Syfy, Sony Pictures, Travel Channel, USA Network, Universal Pictures, and Warner Bros!

I must admit it’s pretty good fun although I can’t say I always remember to check in (they have a great iPhone app that makes “checking-in” easy) although I do look forward to receiving my first set of stickers soon! I think this site has the potential to explode this year. Check it out for yourself at http://getglue.com.

If you want a fast, easy & secure way to store your GetGlue virtual stickers, check out MediaLightBox.com’s file storage where you can use features such as our large file transfer to collaborate on or share your files – get a FREE account today!
