Book | Adobe After Effects CS5 Visual Effects and Compositing Studio Techniques

Posted 6th July 2011 by    email Email article     share Share article

Last week Andrew McCracken blogged about ‘iPad or Kindle? our review for reading’ which is quite appropriate for this time of year as many of us go away on holidays taking a book away with us.

With this in mind I have decided to tell you about a book I will be taking on my holidays, Adobe After Effects CS5 Visual Effects and Compositing Studio Techniquesby Mark Christiansen (Twitter @flowseeker). Not your normal book for reading on your holidays but I am very excited none the less about it.

Two weeks ago I filmed some (exciting) footage which I will edit at the start of August and hope to add some impressive effects to it with the help of After Effects. With this in mind I feel this book will greatly help me do this as Mark Christiansen (the author) knows his stuff in this area. Mark has created visual effects, animations, and designs for features films such as Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, The Day After Tomorrow, Spy Kids 3-D, and more. He is also an instructor at fxphd, so he really does know what he’s talking about! Also the reviews at Amazon of this book are very impressive. I’ll post a review when I have finished it and feel free to tell me what books your reading at the moment too!
