Unbound… books are now in your hands
A few weeks ago I was watching BBC Breakfast and they did a great piece about a website (which I had never come across) called Unbound.
Later that day I went on their website and watched an overview video about what Unbound was (you can watch this video below). Unbound is really about bringing authors and readers together in a new and unique way which is quite opposite to the way books normally/currently get published today.
Unbound think authors and readers should decide which books get published not the publishers themselves. On Unbound authors pitch their ideas directly to you the user in a short video presentation format. If you like what you see, you can pledge your support to help make the book happen. Everyone who supports an author before they reach 100% of the funding target gets their name printed in every edition of that book. All levels include a digital version and immediate access to the author’s shed while they write the book, and supporters of projects that don’t reach their target receive a full refund.
